International & Appeals

The Manely Firm, P.C. successfully defended against the removal of the children to the Republic of Turkey under the Grave Risk grounds of the Hague Convention on International Child Abduction. As a result, our client, the mother, was fortunately able to donate her kidney to her child.

The Manely Firm, P.C.‘s persuasive brief ensured the Court of Appeals affirmed the decision of the trial court, which granted our client sole custody of the minor child. As a result, the child rightfully remains with our client.

Pursuant to the Hague Convention, The Manely Firm, P.C. brought action in the Federal District Court to assure the child was returned to her father and home in the United Kingdom.

The Manely Firm, P.C. famously won a unanimous decision before the United States Supreme Court establishing that the United States retains jurisdiction over children after they have been removed outside of United States borders.

Under the Hague Convention on International Child Abduction, The Manely Firm, P.C. advocated and secured the return of a child home to Costa Rica after she had been impermissibly retained, by her mother, in the United States.

The Manely Firm, P.C. won unanimously before the Georgia Supreme Court by successfully defending against multiple appeals by the father in an attempt to avoid honoring the lower court’s order of support.

In another case, the Firm fortunately defended and prevented the return of a child to an abusive home Costa Rica based on Grave Risk grounds under Hague Convention on International Child Abduction.

The Firm successfully persuaded the United States District Court to deny the return of children to Venezuela based on Human Rights grounds of the Hague Convention on International Child Abduction.

The Manely Firm, P.C. defended and ultimately prevented opposing party’s access to our Client’s children under Hague Convention on International Child Abduction because to Dominican Republic parent’s rights were inchoate in United States District Court.

Under Hague Convention on International Child Abduction, the Manely Firm, P.C. persuasively argued and convinced the court to order a child to be returned from St. Maarten after island was substantially destroyed by hurricane,

Marriage & Divorce

The Manely Firm, P.C. brought action for divorce against our Client’s Haitian national spouse, and successfully persuaded the court to allow the relocation of her and her children to their homeland in Germany.

As a result of the divorce from British/Dubai citizen, the Firm secured a substantial alimony award for our Client, a United States citizen.

As a result of persuasive argument, The Manely Firm, P.C. secured a valuable North Carolina vacation property and the forced sale of the marital home in favor for our client.

Ingeniously using photographic evidence, The Manely Firm, P.C. successfully demonstrated to the court that opposing party was lying about her drug and alcohol use.

The Manely Firm, P.C. convincingly negotiated for the wife to receive over $110,000.00 and the vacation time share, in addition to having her attorney fees payed for by her spouse.

The Manely Firm, P.C. successfully defended against the granting of a temporary protective order against our client because the evidence showed there was minimal contact between the parties after they broke up.

Through strategic negotiations, The Manely Firm, P.C. assured our client would receive $1,000 a month in alimony for nine years.

In a contempt action for child support, The Manely Firm, P.C. secured a contempt finding in which opposing party was ordered to pay the original child support plus an additional amount to cover the arrearage of over $5,000.00.

In a contentious contempt action, The Manely Firm, P.C. secured the payment of over $8,000 in owed child support.

In a divorce action, The Manely Firm, P.C. successfully argued for our client to receive the two vacation properties in Florida, time-share in South Africa, in addition to his car collection.

In a contempt action between former spouses, The Manely Firm, P.C. ensured the former-wife received her entitled share of the pension funds in the amount of over $800.00 a month.

After 36 years of marriage, The Manely Firm, P.C. facilitated an amicable division of the parties assets which included an extensive electronic collection and the family pets.

The Manely Firm, P.C. secured the sole ownership and possession of the martial home in addition to over $80,000.00 for our client, the husband, in a divorce proceeding.

Children & Custody

The Manely Firm successfully intervened and argued to the juvenile court for custody of three young girls to our Client, their aunt, in the dependency and placement action.

The Manely Firm, P.C. fortunately overcame many difficulties associated with adoption by aided a couple in adopting a child, who did not qualify as a family member adoption.

With strategic negotiations, The Manely Firm, P.C. secured our client primary physical and legal custody of her daughter in addition to the majority of the regularly observed holidays.

With the assistance of The Manely Firm, P.C., our client was able to resume her regular visitation and phone calls with her children while she was in recovery.

The Manely Firm, P.C. assured the maternal aunt and uncle were granted sole legal custody after the biological father voluntarily relinquished the child to them with no further contact or child support.

The Manely Firm, P.C. ensured the mother was awarded custody of her child in a custody battle between the mother and paternal grandparents.

With the use of a color-coded calendar as a visual aid, The Manely Firm, P.C. was able to demonstrate to the court the infrequent number of days opposing party exercised their visitation with the child.

The Firm persuaded the Superior Court to grant the relocation of the father and a child to the Bahamas, where our Client intends to open a new medical practice.

The Manely Firm, P.C.‘s persistence, on behalf of our Client, secured an upward modification by more than $600 a month in additional child support as the result of a substantial change in circumstances upon the parties moving to Georgia.

With a strategic and mindful approach, the Firm secured a fair and positive custody order for our Client in Superior Court.

The Manely Firm, P.C. pursued and acquired sole custody and relocation of a four year-old Canadian son for a Georgia father, with conditions on the mother.

Because the Firm argued it was in the child’s best interest that her grandmother continue to have visitation, The Manely Firm, P.C. secured weekly visits and phone calls.
