Marin Winter was born and raised in Atlanta, Georgia.
She attended Sewanee: the University of the South, where she earned a Bachelor of Arts in Politics with minors in Biology and Gender Studies. While at Sewanee, she was on the Dean’s list and was a member of the Order of the Gown.
After graduating from Sewanee in 2021, Marin went on to attend Georgia State University College of Law, earning a Juris Doctor with a Certificate in Public Interest Law & Policy and graduating with Pro Bono Highest Distinction. While at GSU, she was an active member the Public Interest Law Association and the Georgia Association for Women Lawyers. She also volunteered with several organizations throughout her time at GSU, including Atlanta Legal Aid Society, Paws Between Homes, and Atlanta Volunteer Lawyers Foundation (AVLF), and earned GSU’s Pro Bono Award in 2024.
Marin started her legal career working as a law clerk at Hall Booth Smith, PC, specializing in medical malpractice. She then worked at the Hon. Kimberly M. Esmond Adams office as a legal intern and at the Phillip C. Cook Low-Income Taxpayer Clinic as a Student Attorney.
Marin then decided she wanted to practice family law and began volunteering at Atlanta Volunteer Lawyers Foundation (AVLF) Safe Families Office where she helped victims of domestic violence obtain Temporary Protective Orders. She also began interning at Sanderson & Sanford, LLC at this time.
Marin currently works as an Associate Attorney in The Manely Firm’s Atlanta Office.
