Douglas Parks grew up in the mountains of Northern California and joined the Army one year out of high school. After training, Doug landed in Savannah, Georgia as an Airborne Army Ranger with a specialty in Chemical, Biological, Radiological, and Nuclear weapons. After four years in the Army, Doug stayed in Savannah and attended Georgia Southern University – Armstrong Campus. He majored in Law and Society and had a triple minor in International Studies, Criminal Justice & Criminology, and Political Science and graduated magna cum laude in 2019.
After graduating from Georgia Southern, Doug decided to attend Mercer Law School for his legal education. While attending Mercer Law, Doug was a member of the Moot Court team, and he participated in the Intrastate Moot Court Competition. He was also the Treasurer of the Student Bar Association during his 2L year. Doug made the Dean’s List twice while he was at Mercer Law, and he graduated cum laude in 2023.
In his 2L year at Mercer, Doug traveled to England to participate in the Oxford Human Rights Consortium on behalf of Mercer Law where he studied under Hugo Slim, a world-renowned policy advisor in International Relations. The Consortium focuses on the ethics of war and humanitarian aid and the international legal ramifications of the same. Doug has a deep interest and understanding of the world at large having traveled extensively in his life. So far, he has traveled to 21 countries, including Afghanistan, Nepal, Morocco, the Netherlands, and Belize.
Doug has previously worked in personal injury litigation as well as federal disability litigation. He enjoys spending time with his dog Kathleen, reading, playing disc golf, and watching TV and movies.
