Emily grew up in Hammond, Louisiana and did the majority of her undergraduate studies at the University of Mississippi. Emily completed her senior year and graduated from Louisiana State University with a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science. The decision to finish her senior year at LSU aligns with her views of family first as it was a priority for her to be close to her mother to help care for her during her battle with breast cancer. Emily continued her studies at the University of Mississippi School of Law.

While completing her studies, she was a member and then president of the Government Law Student Association, editor of the Mississippi Sports Law Review, and was a graduate assistant for the Ole Miss Rebelettes dance team. Emily was able to combine her passion of law and dance and focused her research on why the NCAA has failed to adopt dance team as a sport. Emily’s paper Not Just Pretty Girls with Pom Poms: An Argument for the NCAA and the Office of Civil Rights to Recognize Collegiate Dance Teams as a Sport was then published in the Mississippi Sports Law Journal.

Following graduation, Emily has worked in insurance defense and federal litigation but has found her home in family law.

Emily is a proud military spouse and dog mom and enjoys watching Ole Miss football, spending time with family, and reading a good book!
