Javiette Grant

Biography

Javiette Grant grew up in Charlotte, North Carolina and earned her Bachelor of Science in Communication Studies from The University of North Carolina at Greensboro. She went on to complete her Master of Science in Counseling at UNCG, concentrating in Couple and Family Counseling. During her graduate studies, Javiette worked with Family Services, where she counseled families, survivors of domestic violence, and children with histories of trauma and substance abuse.

After law school, Javiette became a Program Specialist for the Healthy Relationships Initiative, where she developed programming and led community outreach designed to promote safe, healthy relationships and prevent the consequences of relationship distress.

She later expanded her clinical experience by working with community mental health agencies, providing care to youth in group homes, individuals recently released from incarceration or hospitalization, and clients managing persistent and severe mental illness.

Motivated by the challenges families face during life transitions, Javiette pursued a legal education at Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University College of Law in Orlando, Florida. While in law school, she trained in the school’s mediation clinic, becoming certified as a county mediator, and later earned certification as a family mediator through The Mediation Center of Central Florida.

Following graduation, Javiette served as Program Coordinator for the Pro Bono Legal Services Program at Black Connect, Inc., a nonprofit dedicated to supporting underserved entrepreneurs and small business owners with legal matters such as contracts, intellectual property, business formation, and dispute resolution.

Today, as an Associate Attorney with The Manely Firm, P.C., Javiette draws on her counseling and mediation background to guide clients through difficult and life-changing family law matters with empathy, strategy, and a focus on long-term stability.

In her free time, Javiette enjoys reading self-help and poetry books, spending time with family and friends, and cuddling with her two cats.
