Jessy was born in Lawrenceville, Georgia at Gwinnett Medical Center (now Northside Hospital), ironically, just a few miles away from our Downtown Lawrenceville office. Her parents immigrated to the United States from Mexico in 1990 and always instilled a strong value of taking pride in your work and education.

In middle school, Jessy's parents enrolled her into Reach for Excellence, a 3-year program for academically talented middle school students from households of limited income around Metro Atlanta. At Reach for Excellence, she underwent additional academic courses, was introduced to mentors, and prepared for the challenges of college-preparatory programs and high school. Here, Jessy also visited several college campuses, including the University of Georgia, and she made it a goal to attend and graduate from UGA.

Jessy began to dream of law school while still in high school. A big influence was when her AP U.S. History teacher mentioned in class that the way to truly change something is to become involved, and he recommended law school as a path for her based on her academic achievements, work ethic, and love of reading.

Jessy excelled and graduated from UGA in 2016 with a major in Sociology. Still eager to attend law school, she applied to Atlanta's John Marshall Law School because of their involvement in the community and flexible schedule that allowed her to continue working while she completed her studies. During her first year at John Marshall, Jessy acted as Representative of her student section in the Student Bar Association, bringing issues particular to first-year students to the attention of leadership.

In her second and third years, Jessy interned at the federal sector of Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, working under the Supervisory Administrative Judge in her decision of issues of unlawful discrimination in the federal workplace. She also interned at RESICAP, LP under Sr. Corporate Counsel, eventually rising the ranks to become Jr. Counsel after passing the bar in 2021.

Jessy is grateful for the time she spent in the corporate and federal environment but was drawn back to helping people in her community, which was her original motivation for attending law school: to make a difference in the community from which she lived.

Jessy truly believes that the most important thing in our lives is family and wants to help clients' and their families as they navigate this difficult time. Her persistence and strong work ethic are keys to success, and Jessy is eager to use those strengths to provide a sense of peace and purpose to clients.
