Justice Cafe’: Justice Jam (and Bread)

On Behalf of | Sep 25, 2014 | Justice Cafe

Atlanta Legal Aid put on their annual Justice Jam tonight, this time at the beautiful Strand Theater on the historic Marietta Square.  Four attorney bands rocked the house raising money for Cobb Legal Aid’s mission to help low income residents with their legal, civil issues.  I’m glad to say that The Justice Cafe’ was right in the middle of it.

All four bands were wonderful, but of course my favorite remains Specific Deviations, a band comprised family law attorneys Jeremy Abernathy, Vic Valmus, Steven Steele, Hannibal Herredia and this year, fronted by none other than Cobb Superior Court Judge LaTain Kell, himself.  The band brought out a surprise guest with Judge Kell’s 13 year old son who sang a compelling and strong rendition of Journey’s “Don’t Stop Believing.”  He brought the house down.

The substantial crowd mingled in the Strand’s resplendent lobby enjoying well mixed libations and discussing all things legal, political and pleasurable. Much business mixed with much friendship and a good time was had by all.

The Justice Cafe’ was proud to be a sponsor of this year’s event.  By providing unbundled, a la carte services, The Justice Cafe’ is an excellent, simbiotic complement to the good work performed by Legal Aid.

The citizens of Cobb County can be quite pleased that the legal community opened their wallets to help provide access to folks who need an attorney, but have no means to afford one.  “And Justice For All” got a little healthy dose of capital tonight.
