Judge McGarity was born and raised in Henry County. His father, an attorney, served in both the Georgia House and Senate, was the county's Solicitor General and was Judge McGarity's inspiration in pursuing a legal career.

After law school, he briefly practiced law with his father before forming a partnership in 1978 with fellow attorney Steve Harrison.  The firm of Harrison & McGarity was dissolved in 1988 and Judge McGarity remained in solo private practice until his 1995 appointment to the bench. 

During his time in private practice he served as the City Attorney for McDonough, the Assistant Henry County Attorney and as the judge of the McDonough Recorder's Court. Judge McGarity is married with three children.  He attends the Methodist church.

A native of Quebec, Judge Amero has been seated on the bench of the Flint Judicial Circuit since 2006.  He ran unopposed in the 2014 election.  Prior to his judicial service, Judge Amero was in private practice.  From 1994-1998 he served as Assistant District Attorney for Clayton County. 

Judge Amero was instrumental in implementing the Henry County Parental Accountability Court. The court seeks to identify fathers who refuse to pay child support versus fathers who are unable to pay. Candidates are appointed a case manager, funded by the Georgia Department of Human Services, instead of being incarcerated for contempt. In its first year of implementation, the Accountability Court saved Henry County $178,000 in incarceration costs.

Appointed to the bench of the Flint Judicial Circuit in 2005, Judge Crumbley was previously an attorney in private practice.  He was admitted to the bar in 1978.

Judge Powell was born in Hampton, Georgia and is a lifelong resident of Henry County.  She was appointed Probate Judge in 2006 upon the death of the Honorable Del Buttrill.  In November of that year, she won a special election which made her the first female elected to a judgeship in Henry County.  She was most recently re-elected in 2012.  

Judge Powell is married with two children.  The family attends McDonough United Methodist Church.
